6.3.5 Further information on maintenance

INFORMATION
Only have repairs carried out by qualified personnel, since the wellbeing and safety of the user depends on an
intact belt system.
The function of the product should be checked before each use.
In order to ensure the safety of the product, the belt system also has to be maintained for the entire duration of use.
Inspect the belt system monthly for wear and damage. The interval between inspections should be further reduced
for very heavy users.
Note the following in particular: signs of wear on the seams, pads and straps, and the mounting materials.
All worn or damaged components have to be replaced with original components from the manufacturer as quickly
as possible by qualified personnel. If the functionality of the belt system is impaired, further use of the overall
product is not recommended.

6.4 Additional options

CAUTION
Improper installation of options/accessories
Falling of the user due to incorrect installation, damage of option components
► All option/accessory components must be installed by the qualified personnel unless they were pre-installed
by the manufacturer. A few notes on installation are provided here for the benefit of the qualified personnel.
► Always mount the option/accessory components such that the stability of the product is maintained.
► Inform the attendant that installing and using some of the option components reduces the maximum load.
► Inform the attendant that installing some of the option components (e.g. storage bag, canopy) may restrict the
ability to fold the product. These components should be removed prior to folding if necessary.

6.4.1 Abductor

The seating unit can be equipped with a pommel that ensures that the legs are abducted (spread to the sides) from
the centre of the body for certain indications.
1) Screw the pommel to the folding scissor mechanism under the seat surface (see fig. 31).
2) To make getting in and out easier, you can fold the pommel forward (see fig. 32). Fold the pommel towards the
seat surface, press it down and keep it pressed down to fold it forward.
