5.2 Assigning a signal path

There are several ways to add input signals to one or multiple outputs
The following chapters will describe some of these possibilities

5.2.1 Signal sum L /R MIX OUTPUT

There is an easy way to create a signal path: Directly route the sig-
nal of an input to the sum channel L / R MIX OUTPUT In the facto-
ry settings, the sum signal is available at the XLR jacks OUT 7 and
OUT 8 (17) and also, as a digital stereo signal, at the jacks S/ PDIF (19)
and AES / EBU (21) Via the internal audio recorder, it can also be re-
corded on a USB flash drive connected to one of the USB ports (3)
When these settings are changed, however, the signal can be routed
to any outputs (
 chapter 524)
5.2.1.1 Assigning an input
1) Press the key IN 1– 8 or IN 9 – 20 (13) to call up the input channel
overview (fig 3) for the range of the corresponding channel Press
the corresponding key SEL (10) to select the channel The key will
be illuminated and the channel strip in the view will be highlighted
2) Press the key SENDS (13) so that it will be illuminated The keys
MUTE (12) and SOLO (11) will then have functions deviating from
their marking
3) The key MUTE next to the fader for the stereo sum (14) is used
to directly route the signal of the input channel selected to the
stereo sum
When a channel has been assigned, the key MUTE will be illu-
minated and "L&R" will be displayed in the lower section of the
channel strip for the input channel
4) To define the position of the input signal in the stereo panorama
for the mono channels or to adjust the stereo balance for the stereo
channels, call up the view for the channel output (fig 6) To do
this, tap the lowermost section of the channel strip
5) Tap the field underneath PAN to select the parameter "Panorama"
The field will have a yellow frame For the stereo channels, the field
is named BAL (balance)
6) Use the control ADJUST (6) to adjust the ratio between the left
stereo channel and the right stereo channel To make it easier to
reset the setting to the centre position "50|50", tap the display
field twice
7) The channel volume "Fader" and the functions "Solo" and "Mute"
can be adjusted on the screen in this view: To set the value to 0 dB,
tap the value underneath "Fader" twice To be able to operate
the volume setting via the fader (9), the mute function via the key
MUTE (12) and the Solo function via the key SOLO (11), press the
key SENDS once again so that it is no longer illuminated
