Output signal is in the range of -5 V up to 0 V or in the range of 0 V up to +5 V.

The measuring system operates. Connect the analog output with an oscilloscope.
Set the output voltage with potentiometer "gain" to the value of the desired voltage for full range (±5 V),

The highest sensitivity over the whole range is achieved at a calibration to 5 V output voltage. This gives
the best signal/noise ratio.
