1 General information
(1) The installation of the tanks must comply with Sections 3 and 4 of the „Special Provisions"
of this General Building Inspectorate Approval.
(2) In high water or flooding areas, the tanks must be placed so that they cannot be reached by
high water.
(3) If the tanks are installed outdoors, they must be secured against wind forces as specified
in Appendix 1.4.
2 Bearing surface
The tanks must be placed completely on a flat, rigid support slab or a carefully compacted and
surfaced support area. If the tanks are installed outdoors, a foundation must be provided that
can take the tear-out force of the floor anchor (see Appendix 1.4).
3 Spacing
The tank must be installed so that the piping for emptying, filling and ventilation and for the
leak detector is accessible and can be easily inspected. Furthermore, it must be ensured that
the risk of explosion is kept to a minimum and adequate fire-fighting equipment is available
(see also Section 3(1) of the „Special Provisions").
4 Installation
(1) The tanks must be installed level and plumb at their location. The installation instructions
delivered with the tanks (see Section 5.1.4 of the „Special Provisions") must be followed.
(2) The following specifications must be met when installing tank systems:
a) The tanks must be installed in one row or in two rows with a total of no more than five tanks
of the same size.
b) The tank system must be equipped with the „C-B 3" filling system as well as the non-
communicating emptying system „WK II" or „WK IV". When the tanks are set up in a row
(not block set-up), the non-communicating emptying system Type „C-A 4" may also be used.
