(3) The certification agency must provide a copy of the conformity certificate it issues to the
German Institute of Structural Engineering (DIBt). A copy of the first test report must also be
given to the German Institute of Structural Engineering (DIBt).
2.3.2
Manufacturer's production quality control
(1) The manufacturer must initiate and carry out production quality control in the production
plant. The manufacturer's production quality control is defined as the continuous monitoring of
production to be performed by the manufacturer, by means of which he ensures that the tanks
manufactured by him meet the specifications of this general building inspectorate approval.
(2) The in-house production quality control should include at least the tests listed in Appendix
5, Section 1.
(3) The results of the in-house production quality control must be recorded and analysed.
The records must contain at least the following data:
– designation of the product manufactured and/or the initial material
– type of inspection or test
– date of manufacture and of testing of the product and/or the starting material, or its constituent
components
– results of the inspections and tests and comparison with the requirements
– signature of the person in charge of the in-house production quality control.
(4) The data logs are to be kept at least five years and must be submitted to the external
monitoring agent. Upon request they are to be presented to the German Institute of Structural
Engineering (DIBt) and the relevant highest building supervisory agency.
(5) In the case of unsatisfactory test results, the manufacturer must immediately take the
necessary steps to remedy the defects found. Products that do not meet specifications must be
handled so that they cannot be confused with compliant products. After the defect is remedied,
the failed test must be repeated as soon as technically possible.
2.3.3
External monitoring
(1) In the manufacturing plant, the in-house production quality control is to be externally
monitored as specified in Appendix 5, Section 2 (2) at regular intervals,
(2) As part of the external monitoring, an initial test of the tanks must be performed as specified
in Appendix 5, Section 2 (1). In addition, samples for random testing can be taken. The sample
taking and tests are the responsibility of the recognised monitoring agency.
(3) The results of the certification and external monitoring are to be kept for at least five years.
Upon request, the certification agency and the monitoring agency must present them to the
German Institute of Structural Engineering (DIBt) and the relevant highest building supervisory
agency.

Design and measurement specifications
(1) The specifications for installing the tanks are found in the water, work safety, and building
directives. The requirements of Appendix 6 also apply.
(2) When defining the installation specifications, it is to be assumed that the tanks are designed
in accordance with this notification to withstand the effects of flames for a duration of 30 minutes
