The Special Provisions of the General Building Inspectorate Approval are amended and supplemented
as follows.

Object of the approval and scope of application
(1) The object of this General Building Inspectorate Approval consists of double-walled tanks
made of glass fibre-reinforced plastic. The capacities of the tanks are 1000 litres, 1300 litres,
1500 litres, 2000 litres and 2350 litres, respectively. The tanks are shown in Appendix 1. A leak
detector which works using underpressure and is suitable for the specific use is connected to
the monitoring chamber of the tanks with capacities of 2000 litres and 2350 litres.
(2) The tanks may be installed within buildings and as single tanks outdoors, but not in explosion
hazard areas of Zones 0 and 1.
(3) The tanks can be utilised for depressurised storage of the liquids listed below.
1 EL-grade heating oil as per DIN 51, 603 -1
2 Diesel fuel as per DIN 590
3 Diesel fuel DIN 51 606
4 Lubricant oils, hydraulic oils, heat transfer oils Q alloyed or unalloyed, non-combustible or of
risk class A III under VbF (German regulations for combustible liquids)
5 Used lubricating oils, hydraulic oils, thermal oils Q grade, ignition point over 55 °C; operator
must be able to prove origin and ignition point
6 Paraffin oil
7 Vegetable oils such as cottonseed oil, olive oil, rapeseed oil, castor oil, wheat germ oil
8 Silicone oil, silicone grease
9 Animal fats and oils such as sperm oil
The maximum operating temperature can be as high as 40 °C.
(4) When used for storage of EL-grade heating oil and diesel fuel as per DIN EN 590, the tanks
may be connected to form tank systems.
(5) This General Building Inspectorate Approval satisfies the obligation to obtain confirmation of
suitability in accordance with water regulations and type approval in accordance with Section
19 h of the Water Resources Act
