Approval No. Z-40.11-280 dated 30 January 2001
The special provisions of the General Construction Inspection Approval
are amended and supplemented as follows.

Object of approval and area of application
(1) The object of this General Construction Inspection Approval consists of tanks made of glass fibre-
reinforced plastic. Below the permitted fluid level, the tanks consist of an inner and an outer wall. The
intermediate space formed by the two walls can be used as a monitoring chamber when a leak indicator
is attached. The capacities of the tanks are 1000 litres, 1300 litres, 1500 litres, 2000 litres and 2350 litres,
respectively. The tanks are shown in Appendix 1.
(2) The tanks may be positioned in building spaces and in the open air, but not in zone 0 and 1 explosion
hazard areas.
(3) The containers can be utilised for unpressurised storage of the following liquids:
1 Heating oil EL as per DIN 51603-1
2 Diesel fuel as per DIN EN 590
3 Lubricating oils, hydraulic oils, heat transfer oils (Q grade) mixed or unmixed,
with flash points above 55 °C
4 Lubricating oils, hydraulic oils, heat transfer oils (Q grade), used, flash point above 55 °C;
the operator must be able to provide evidence of the origin and flash point
5 Paraffin oil
6 Vegetable oils such as cottonseed oil, olive oil, rapeseed oil, castor oil, wheat germ oil
7 Silicone oil, silicone grease
8 Animal fats and oils such as sperm oil
The operating temperature must be a maximum of 40 °C.
(4) A leak indicator with a General Construction Inspection Approval that uses the partial vacuum process
can be connected to the monitoring chamber.
(5) When used for storage of EL-grade heating oil and diesel fuel as per DIN EN 590, the tanks may be
connected to form tank systems.
(6) This General Construction Inspection Approval negates the need for a suitability determination for
water regulations and the qualification approval under Section 19 h of the Water Resources Act
Section 2.1.3 is changed as follows:

Stability verification
The tanks are stable under the applicable conditions of use. In the case of tanks set up outside buildings
with an anchoring structure as described in Appendix 1.4, the stability under wind loads up to wind zone
2 as specified in DIN 1055-4
