6 INSPECTION AND
MAINTENANCE
6.1

When you carry out maintenance

Be aware that:
 If you are in any doubt whether you should perform an action, please contact your
local Stertil service department or distributor.
 If you are allowed to perform an action but are unsure whether you have the
ability to do so, please contact your local Stertil service department or distributor.
 Always observe the safety procedures when carrying out maintenance; see
chapter Safety (on page 11).
 After carrying out the maintenance, always perform the final checks.
6.2

Preparations before inspection and maintenance

Always lower the column lifts completely and switch off the main power switch
(position 0) during inspection and maintenance. Do this by turning the main switch
to the 0 position, then pull the mains plug from the socket.
The power may only be switched on temporarily for bringing the lifting system in
another position when required for performing certain checks and adjustments.

Warning
When the column lifts are in a raised position, always lower them into the safety
lock.
6.3

Daily checks by the user

Perform the following checks daily:
1. Inspect the column lifts for visible damage.
2. Check whether there has been any oil leakage from the hydraulic unit, the hoses or
the cylinder.
3. Check the battery capacity.
