OPERATION PROCEDURES

5.1

Preparation

Before using the column lift, make certain that:
 the floor where the column lifts are set up is capable of supporting the setup and
the vehicle,
 the installation has taken account of the need for an escape route at least 60 cm
wide on all sides of the setup,
 the maximum load on each column will not exceed the maximum lifting capacity,
 the lifting system is perfectly vertical, both when viewed from the front and from
the side,
 the maximum permissible wind speed will not be exceeded; see section Outdoor
use (on page 47),
 the pallet lifting mechanism is set to the bottom position.
Preparatory steps:
If necessary, fit wheel adapters to the forks of the column lifts or slide the forks to the
correct distance; see section Adjustable forks (on page 47).
1. Set up the required number of column lifts.
2. Ensure that the fork of each column lift is extended as far as possible under the
wheel.
3. Lower the pallet lifting mechanism by pulling on the lever that is located on the
inside of the drawbar.
4. Ensure that the main switch on the control cabinet of the column(s) is set to 0 (OFF).
5. Check the safety mechanism by pressing the UNLOCK button (5) a few times. You
should clearly hear the noise of the pawls.
5.2

Starting

Follow the procedure described next for switching the columns on.
1. Check that all the emergency stop switches are unlocked.
2. Place the columns with the forks around the wheels of the vehicle.
3. Turn the main switch of the columns in question to the 1 (ON) position. This will
switch on the power supply to the columns and a screen will appear on the display.
