Changing GF2 and GF3 Filters
Detach the filter (Fig. 5, Pos.1) together with the angu-
lar hose parts (Fig. 5, Pos.2) from the upper and lower
connector. Disconnect both angular hose parts from the
filter by turning them slightly and connect to new filter.
Plug the new filter with the angular hose parts onto the
connector; the installation position should comply with
the drawing printed on the device's rear panel.
Attach the adhesive label 1 689 980 296 to each new
GF3 filter. You should write down the current date and
the signature of the person performing the job on the
adhesive labels. The date enables you to check the
replacement interval and the signature enables you to
confirm that the filter was replaced properly. Do not
use a water-soluble felt pen when writing on the adhe-
sive label.

Disconnect the exhaust sample hose from the measure-
ment input on the BEA 050.

There must not be any engine exhaust nor gasoline
or cleaning agent vapors in the air within the imme-
diate environment of the BEA 050.
In the Emission System Analysis program in your Bosch
test system call up the Diagnosis / Gas values menu.
After the system balance (null balance and HC resi-
due test) the device will display the current measured
values.
Observe the display for approx. 2 minutes checking
limits and stability.
Error limits for fluctuations (noise):
