5..6 O Sensor

The O sensor wears out throughout the course of time.

The zero point of the oxygen content measurement is
monitored constantly. Where deviations occur the error
message
"O sensor balance faulty"

This error message means that the O
replaced (see installation instructions 1 689 978 178).

Only original O sensors bearing the designation

BOSCH A7-11.5, CLASS R-17A BOS, CLASS R-17A
SIE or W79085-G4003-X may be used (order number
1 687 224 727).
Danger of burning!
Take care not to damage the O
contents can cause severe irritation to the skin
and eyes .

Should any of its contents splash onto the
skin, the affected part should be rinsed with
copious amounts of water for at least 15
minutes.

If the contents splash into the eyes you
should seek medical help immediately.

The O sensor should be allowed to acclimatize for

at least 30 minutes after it is unpacked. This is the
only way to ensure that the zero point of the ex-
haust-gas analyzer is calibrated correctly, and that
the O sensor functions properly.

Storing

therefore vital that the latest installation date shown on
