Starting up

.1 BEA 050 connection to Bosch Test
System and RTM 0 connection to
BEA 050
The start up and connection of the BEA 050 spark-igni-
tion engine exhaust-gas analyzer to a Bosch test system
or connection of the RTM 430 to a BEA 050 is descri-
bed in the enclosed installation instructions for each
respective retrofitting set (1 689 978 404 for FSA 560
and Emission System Analysis).
Caution - danger of tipping over, falling off!
If the BEA 050 is not mounted properly, it can
fall off the equipment or tip over with it . As a
result, body parts may be crushed, the BEA 050
or items in the vicinity may be damaged .

Anchor the BEA 050 firmly in the relevant
position.

Take the center of gravity into account - do
not mount the BEA 050 on high or unstable
equipment.

Power Supply

The power supply is established by way of the lighting
line. The BEA 050 is set ex-factory to 230 V, 50/60 Hz.
Before starting up care must be taken to en-
sure that the lighting line's voltage matches
the configured voltage of the BEA 050. In the
event that this is not the case, then the correct
voltage must be set by service. If the BEA 050
is operated in the open, we recommend using
a power source, which is protected by an FI
circuit breaker. The device should be operated
under dry conditions only.
The power supply details on the BEA 050 are printed on
a label attached to the rear panel of the device.4.3

Switching Device On

The BEA 050's power plug is to be plugged into the
plug-socket strip on the Bosch test system. The
BEA 050 is also switched on at the same time as the
test system is switched on.

Switching Device Off

In order to keep the level of contamination in the
BEA 050 as low as possible, we recommend running the
pump to purge the BEA 050 of residual gas before swit-
ching it off. To do so the exhaust-sample probe must be
out in the open.

First of all exit the exhaust-gas test step and wait
until the pump stops running. Only then should the
test system be switched off.
