Option 1- Purging Using Pump Installed in Analyzer
After each 2-stroke measurement the pump must re-
main switched on until the displayed HC value drops
below 20 ppm. The purging period is dependent upon
how high the residual value is. It may last up to approx.
30 minutes, but it can also be significantly longer.
For this option the 2-stroke exhaust-gas measurement
also requires an activated carbon filter. It must always
be installed in the gas flow for these measurements.

Option 2 - Additional Outer Gas Flow
In order to drastically reduce the purging period, i.e. to
increase the availability of the device after a 2-stroke
measurement, we recommend using a second gas flow.
Any possible deposits can be removed quickly by using
compressed air to blow them out of the disconnected
hose.

Notes:

The exhaust-sample hose for the 2nd. gas flow is made
of silicon material. Compared with the hose made of
viton it is cheaper, but it absorbs hydrocarbons.

Activated carbon filters serve to bind hydrocarbons.

Silicon exhaust-sample hoses and activated carbon
filters may only be used for CO measurements, but
not for HC and lambda measurements.
