b) Carrying out IR measurement

Proceed as follows for IR thermal image measurement:
- Switch the measuring instrument on at the rotary switch. IR measurement can be activated in any measuring func-
tion.
- Open the rear lens protection cover (16). To do this, press the slider to open the cover.
- B riefly press the 'IR' button (11). The measuring instrument switches to IR thermal imaging mode. It takes approx.
2 - 3 seconds for the detector to be calibrated.
The calibration process is identifiable by a short click sound. Calibration is also carried out regularly during
measurement. This helps the detector to retain its accuracy over longer measuring phases. During the
calibration procedure, the detector is covered internally and no temperature updates are carried out (frozen
image).
- Once initialisation is complete, the thermal image with false colour photography is displayed.
- The colour palettes, the temperature unit and the emission level can be set in the settings menu according to your
requirements. Preset values are colour palette 1, degrees Celsius and emission level 0.95.
- The measured values for the image centre point (S), the maximum value (H) and the minimum value (C) are shown
on the display. Markers for max. and min. can be recorded automatically according to the setting of the temperature
probes.
- Switch the measuring instrument off after finishing measurement and close the protective cover over the lens.
