Ex Hazardous Areas

An Ex-hazardous area as used in this manual refers to an area made hazardous by
the potential presence of flammable or explosive vapors. These areas are also
referred to as hazardous locations.

Only gauges powered by batteries are approved for use in hazardous locations.
Use only approved AA size alkaline batteries as given in the table below.
Only change batteries in an area known to be non-hazardous.

Special hazards
WARNING!
Pressure sensors should only be fitted or removed when the system is free from

pressure.
Observe the working conditions in accordance with chapter "3. Specifications".

Always operate the CPH65I0 intrinsically safe hand-held pressure calibrator
■
within its overload limits.
Residual media in a dismounted CPH65I0 intrinsically safe hand-held pressure
■
calibrator can result in a risk to persons, the environment and equipment. Take
sufficient precautionary measures.
Only use accessories available from WIKA for the CPH65I0 intrinsically safe
■
hand-held pressure calibrator.
Never touch the probe to a voltage source when the test leads are plugged into
■
the current terminals.
Do not use the calibrator if it is damaged. Before you use the calibrator, inspect
■
the case. Look for cracks or missing plastic. Pay particular attention to the
insulation surrounding the connectors.
The measurement signal of the reference (or test sample) can be influenced by
