X. Safety instructions
y Never start the equipment in an enclosed room
or under conditions of insufficient cooling and
access to fresh air. This also applies when using
the pump in trenches, shafts, outdoor holes,
where exhaust fumes fill up such areas because
they are denser than air and therefore are not
well ventilated out of such areas. This may result
in poisoning of persons working in these areas.
Exhaust fumes are poisonous and contain toxic
carbon monoxide, which is a colourless and
odourless gas than may result in loss of consci-
ousness when inhaled and possibly also death.
If the pump is located in ventilated rooms, it
is necessary to ensure perfect extraction of
exhaust fumes, continuous supply of fresh air
and to maintain safety rules for fire prevention.
y Petrol is flammable and poisonous, including its
vapours. Therefore, prevent fuel from coming
into contact with skin, breathing in vapours and
ingesting it. Handle petrol and refill the fuel
tank in well ventilated areas to prevent inhaling
petrol vapours. While performing such tasks, use
suitable protective aids to prevent skin contact
and potential spillage.
When handling petrol, do not smoke or handle
an open flame. Avoid contact with sources of
radiant heat.
Do not refill petrol while the pump is running.
Turn off the motor and wait for all parts to cool
down before refilling the tank.
y Do not allow anybody to operate the pump without
prior instruction. Prevent the equipment from being
operated by a person that is physically or mentally unfit,
under-aged, incapacitated under the influence of drugs,
medication, alcohol or exhausted. Prevent children from
using the pump and ensure that they do not play with it.
y The motor and exhaust are very hot during operation
and long thereafter and may cause burns. Therefore,
heed all warnings in the form of symbols on the machi-
ne. All persons (children in particular) and animals
must therefore remain at a safe distance from the
equipment. Allow the pump to cool down before trans-
porting or storing it.

y Heed all instructions on labels located on the pump.
y Never start the pump in an enclosed room and without
a sufficient supply of fresh air and ventilation. Exhaust
fumes are poisonous, so do not inhale them.
y Do not start the pump in an environment where there
are flammable and explosive substances and at distan-
ces closer than 1 metre to other objects.
y To prevent a fire hazard, do not place any items on to
the hot parts of the pump.
y Use hearing protection when remaining in the vici-
nity of the pump. The acoustic power level exceeds
85 dB(A), which may cause damage to hearing after
extended exposure.
y Do not leave the pump running with the pressurised
water outlet closed.
y If there is no pumped water entering or leaving the pump,
turn it off immediately. Running the pump „dry" leads to
burning the sealing elements in the pump housing.
y Do not use the pump for pumping fluids other than
clean fresh water. Pumping of chlorinated pool water
is permitted, however under the condition that correct
dosage of chemical agents for domestic pools is adhe-
red to according to the manufacturers instructions,
which will prevent damaging the pump by aggressive
fluids. After pumping chlorinated water, the pump
housing must be flushed out with clean water. The
pump must not be used to pump salt water, flamma-
ble, thick or aggressive fluids, foodstuffs and water
containing aggressive particles, e.g. sand, soil, etc.
Abrasive particles will rapidly wear out the pump and
reduce its performance.
y The pump may be used to pump fluid with a maximum
temperature of 35° and a minimum temperature of 0°C.
Water must not contain any ice or crushed ice.
y Always position the pump on a firm even surface so
that it does not tip over during its operation. Do not tilt
it by more than 15° from the horizontal position. In the
event of a greater angle, there is a risk of fuel spilling
from the fuel tank.
y Before starting the pump, make sure that you know
how to shut off the motor as quickly as possible if
necessary.
