I. Features
y The Extol® Craft 414502 and 414503 motor jet pumps are intended for pumping clean fresh water from underground sour-
ces, e.g. ponds, streams, fire protection reservoirs, pools, etc. for use in domestic gardens and recreational areas, namely
in areas without electrical energy. Thanks to its light weight and compact dimensions, the pump is portable and easy to
store. The pump is equipped with variable flow control of the pumped fluid and is easy to operate.
The pump is not designed for pumping muddy water and sediments, i.e. luids from sewage tanks, looded trenches with
muddy water and water containing abrasive particles such as sand, i.e. the pump is not a substitute for a sludge pump.

The power (flow rate) of the pump is divided between
the suction depth and the delivery height. To achieve the
maximum delivery height, the suction depth must be as
small as possible. To achieve the maximum delivery flow
rate at the outlet, the suction depth and the delivery hei-
ght must be as small as possible. The delivery flow rate
of the pump declines proportionately with the increasing
length of the hose and the viscosity of the pumped liquid,
with the increasing height difference between the positi-
on of the pump and the hose end, with the diameter and
resistance of the hose, with declining water temperature.

The declared suction depth of 8 m is achieved on pump
414502 with the use of a check valve on the suction
hose that can be purchased at a store selling pump
equipment.The reason for this is the greater weight of
the water column in the hose that acts to counter to the
suction strength of the pump when there is no check
valve present.This valve can be purchased in combina-
tion with a suction strainer.Without the use of a check
valve, the suction depth is approximately 3 m, which is
sufficient for pumping water from normally accessible
surface water sources.Pump 414503 does not require
a check valve to achieve a suction depth of 8 m, however
the flow rate of the pumped fluid will be lower.In the
event that it is necessary to increase the volumetric flow
rate, use a foot valve (check valve with an inlet strainer).
