VI. Turning of the pump's
motor
1. Set the flow rate/speed regulator to minimum
power.
2. Turn off the pump's motor by pressing button
(fig. 1B, position 12; fig. 2A, position 12).
•
ATTENTION
3. After finishing using pump 414503,
always shut off the fuel supply to the
carburettor by setting the fuel valve
lever to position "OFF".
When handling the pump, e.g. when
transporting it, there is a risk that
additional fuel will inadvertently enter
the carburettor or cylinders of the
motor, which will result in not being
able to start the pump and will need
to be repaired at an authorised service
centre.
•
ATTENTION
y In the event that it is necessary to quickly turn off the
motor, first press the motor shut off button and then
perform the other steps.

VII. Putting the pump out
of operation.
FLUSHING OUT THE PUMP HOUSING
y After pumping water out of a pool that contains
chlorine or pumping dirty water, flush out the
pump and hoses, if necessary, with clean water
to remove any sediments in the pump housing.
I n the event of greater soiling, e.g. after pumping
out a garden pond in which there are micro-sedi-
ments of decayed biological material, clean out the
pump housing including the hoses by drawing clean
water from a prepared container with the pump
motor running.
I n the case of pumped pool water containing chlo-
rine or slight soiling, it is possible to turn off the
pump's motor, disconnect the hoses and pour in
clean water through the filling opening of the pump
housing and then drain this water from the pump
housing by unscrewing the drain hole bolt (fig. 1B,
position 13' fig. 2B, position 18) by tilting the pump
to ensure that all the water exits the pump housing.
After draining the water from the pump housing,
screw the bolt back on.
•
ATTENTION
y Water must always be drained from the
pump housing by removing the drain
bolt and tilting the pump before storage
regardless of whether the water is clean
or not.
Particularly when the pump is stored at
temperatures below 0°C, water in the
unemptied pump housing will freeze and
damage the sealing elements and the
pump system.

VIII. Cleaning and maintenance
•
ATTENTION
y Before commencing maintenance, turn off the motor and allow it to cool down.
T o ensure optimal operation of the pump, it is necessary to carry out regular inspections of the pump according to
the maintenance plan table below.

The carburettor of pump 414502 may only be purged by an authorised service centre for the Extol® brand because it
is necessary to work on the internal parts of the carburettor.
On model 414503, the user can purge the carburettor themselves by screwing out the purge bolt, see below. In this
case, it is not necessary to work on the internal parts of the carburettor.
