motor will not start up.
PURGING THE CARBURETTOR
•
ATTENTION
y The carburettor of pump 414502 may only be purged
by an authorised service centre for the Extol® brand
because it is necessary to work on the internal parts of
the carburettor.
y On model 414503, the user may purge the carburettor
themselves because it is not necessary to work on the
internal parts of the carburettor.
 P urge the carburettor in a well ventilated area
and prevent access to an open flame or heat. Wear
waterproof gloves when purging the carburettor.
1. Shut off the fuel supply to the carburettor by
closing the fuel valve.
2. Remove the bolt on the underside of the carbu-
rettor (fig. 2A, position 7) and allow the dirty
fuel to drain into a prepared container.
3. It is possible to open the fuel valve for a short
moment to flush out the carburettor and then
close it again.
4. Ecologically dispose of the dirty fuel.

CLEANING THE PUMP HOUSING

y If the pump housing is clogged or the impeller is bloc-
ked, it is necessary to screw out the front side of the
pump housing. We recommend that this task is given
to an authorised service centre because for the pump
to run properly, the sealing elements must be correctly
reinstalled without being damaged when returning
the cover, because an incorrectly attached cover will
damage them. This type of repair does not constitute
a warranty repair.
TROUBLESHOOTING
y If a problem arises when using the pump, attempt to
remedy it according to the following table.
If you are unsuccessful in remedying the problem,
please contact the vendor from whom you purchased
the pump, who will organise its repair at an authorised
service centre for the Extol® brand, or you may hand it
over to an authorised service centre directly (You will
find a list of service centres at the website in the user's
manual).
