Starting the engine
The wheels must be hanging freely in the air! Put the model on a suitable car stand or similar support.
• Pull out the pull-start cable slowly several times to let the carburettor ingest fuel.
• Repeat the procedure until there are no more air bubbles in the fuel tube and the fuel is just about to enter the carburettor.
Caution!
Do not pull out the cable all the way. Always pull it out to a maximum of 3/4 of its length! Determine the length of the pull-start cable by pulling it out
slowly without ignition!
Never apply force when pulling it out!
• Put the glow plug starter with a fully charged starter battery on the glow plug (see illustration on the right). Make sure it sits tightly!
• Now swiftly pull out the cable until the engine starts up. Hold the model firmly with your other hand.
Never touch the drive mechanism as it could start running if the slipping clutch engages. Risk of injury!
• When the engine is running, let go of the cable and remove the glow-plug starter.
Only connect the glow-plug starter to the engine for a short time. Otherwise the glow plug can burn out prematurely.
• If the pull-start – after several unsuccessful attempts – only works with increased effort, too much fuel has reached the combustion chamber and the
crankcase. The engine has been flooded.
Refrain from further start attempts and remove the excess fuel in order to avoid damage to the cable pull-starter and the engine!
Proceed as follows to remove the fuel:
• Carefully screw in the main jet needle clockwise all the way.
• Unscrew the glow plug and check its glow function.
• Place a piece of cloth on the engine and pull out the pull starter 5-6 times (3/4 of its length!). The fuel is pumped out and evaporates.
• Insert the glow plug again.
• Now screw the main jet needle anti-clockwise by 3 revolutions.
• Try to start the engine again.
If the engine does not start running after the 10th attempt, repeat the procedure described above or try to solve the problem according to the troubleshooting
table!

Switching off the engine

Cut off the air supply to the carburettor. For this purpose, proceed as follows:
• Close the exhaust pipe with an engine stopper (or use a cloth instead) or stop the flywheel of the engine on the underside of the chassis using protective
gloves.
The fuel supply must not be disconnected as otherwise the engine might overheat.
