13. Maintenance and Service
Clean the exterior of the model and the remote control only with a soft, dry cloth or brush. Never use aggressive
cleansing agents or chemical solutions, because they might damage the surface of the housing.
Check the mechanical parts of the model throughout
at regular intervals. All screwed connections should
be tight and should not loosen up due to vibrations
of the helicopter.
Make sure that the grub screws in the top set collar
(1) and the bottom set collar () of the main rotor
shaft have a tight fit.
Rotatable parts must turn easily but there must not
be any play in the bearings.
When replacing mechanical parts use only original
spares available from the manufacturer.
Important!
Also check the retaining screws at
the rotor blades. They must not be
tightened too firmly to allow the rotor
blades during operation to align in a 180° angle to each other. It is only so that a low-vibration
running without unbalances is possible.
If you hold the rotor shaft horizontally, the rotor blades must be able to let downward (chapter
9e).
