Safety Notices

Please read the entire operating instructions before using the product for the first
time; they contain important information about the correct operation.
The guarantee/warranty will be void if damage is incurred resulting from non-com-
pliance with the operating instructions. We will not assume any responsibility for
consequential damage!
Nor do we assume liability for damage to property or personal injury caused by
improper use or the failure to observe the safety instructions! In such cases the war-
ranty/guarantee is voided.
To ensure safe operation, the user should comply with the safety instructions and warnings contained in
these operating instructions.
For safety and licensing reasons (CE), unauthorised conversion and/or modification of the device is not
permitted.
The device is intended only as an aid for reversing; it does not absolve the driver from practicing due dili-
gence. As a result of the mode of operation of the device, some obstacles may not be detected or may
be detected unreliably.
The device is only fully functional during slow reversing. The warning may not be emitted in time if the
vehicle is moving at faster speeds.
The device's performance may be negatively affected by large amounts of dirt on the sensors, rain or by
the effects of exhaust gas.
The sensors and the camera must not obstruct the vehicle's rear lights, the number plate or any other of
the vehicle's equipment and they must be flush with the edge of the vehicle.
When installing and operating the set, observe the valid registration directives and the traffic regulations.
Prior to all installation work, always disconnect the minus pole of the battery. This prevents the danger of
short circuits. Only connect the negative pole of the battery, when you have completely connected the
system and checked the connections. Observe the notices of the vehicle manufacturer in order not to
lose vehicle-specific data memory.
You should only use a voltmeter or a diode test lamp for checking the voltage on the on-board cables as
normal test lamps consume excessive currents and can thus damage the electronic system of the car.
When laying the cables, make sure that they are not squeezed or scoured on sharp edges. Use rubber
grommets for the feed-though points.
Modifications to the vehicle which are made necessary through the installation of the parking aid must
always be carried out in such a manner that neither the traffic safety nor the designed stability of the car
is impaired.
If you are in doubt when selecting a place for installation, consult your car dealer.
Make sure before drilling the attachment holes that no electric cables, brake lines, the fuel tank or simi-
lar are damaged.
