Test the system prior to first use to familiarize yourself with the displays and signals.
To do so, switch on the ignition (on-board voltage supply) and then put the car into reverse. Besides the
sensor data, the monitor also shows the rear image.
Ask a second person to simulate the "obstacle" behind your car. Ask the second person to slowly
advance to the car from approx. 2 m distance.
The shortest distance of the two vehicle sides to an obstacle is displayed in metres at the top of the
screen. The bar display signals the direction and distance of the 4 sensors to an obstacle. The more bars
you see, the closer the obstacle is.

The distance to an obstacle is also signalled with increasing intensity of the signal (large distance = slow
beep, smaller distance = faster beep).
The following warning ranges must be observed:
Safe range from 2.0 - 1.6 m (no sound, no distance indicated).
Safe range from 1.5 - 0.9 m (slow alarm, distance indicated).
Warning range from 0.8 to 0.5 m (faster alarm, distance indicated).
Hazard range from 0.4 m - 0 m (fast alarm, monitor display "STOP" < 0.4 m)).
In certain situations, the ultrasound mea-
suring principle does not work reliably.
This may be the case on slight slopes,
rounded or soft objects, which absorb
the ultrasound waves.
