 Clean the saw chain with a cloth and brush.
 After cleaning, spray the saw chain and the saw
rail with a care spray (see "Spare parts and
accessories").
 Clean the oil passage
as well as the entire area around the chain wheel.
 Install the saw chain, the saw rail and the chain
cover.
Saw rail wear
The unit saw rail will eventually wear out.
 After cleaning, turn the saw rail by 180°.
This will offset the wear and increase the service
life of the saw rail.

Lubricating the chain

 Before using the unit, always check the chain
lubrication and the oil level in the tank.
 Do not operate the chain saw if the chain is not
lubricated: Even using the unit briefly without
a lubricated chain would damage the rail and
chain.
Storage
 Keep the chain saw in a dry and secure location
and out of the reach of children.
 Keep the chain saw in the supplied guard.
 Ensure that chain lubricating oil cannot drip out
of the stored unit.
 Preferably place the unit horizontally with the oil
tank cap face up.

 Charge the battery before storing the unit in
winter (see "General information about the
battery").
 Always store the unit in a dry and secure location
which is not accessible to children
 Store the battery and the chain saw separately.
 Store the battery in a clean and dry location.
Recommended storage temperature approx.
18 °C.
 Keep the unit, in particular its plastic components,
away from brake fluids, petrol, petroleum
products, penetrating oil, etc. They contain
chemical substances which may damage, attack
or destroy the plastic components of the unit.
 Fertilisers and other garden chemicals contain
substances which may have a highly corrosive
effect on the metal parts of the unit. Therefore
do not store the unit near these substances.
Sharpening the chain saw
Warning Risk of injury!
Follow the instructions of the manufacturer
for sharpening the saw chain.
To sharpen the saw chain properly, special tools are
required which ensure that the cutting edges of the
chain are sharpened at the correct angle and to the
correct depth. We therefore recommend having the
saw chain sharpened by a qualified technician
or a service centre.
Remedial action
Adjust the chain tension.
Fill the oil tank.
Replace the saw chain.
Clean the saw rail.
Fill the oil tank.
Fit the saw chain correctly.
