Maintenance

Warning Risk of accidents!
The felling cut must end at a distance of 1/10 of the
trunk diameter from the scarf. Never cut the trunk
completely through, otherwise the tree would fall
uncontrollably. Therefore, leave part of the wood as
holding wood. The uncut part of the trunk acts as
a hinge.
 When the scarf cut and the felling cut have been
made, the tree will start to fall. Use felling wedges
for support (if required).
 As soon as the tree starts to fall, move away in the
predetermined escape direction.
Debranching the tree trunk
 For the time being, leave the branches which
support the felled tree.
 Debranch the tree trunk from bottom to top

Attention! Sharp chain saw!
The tool coasts!

work on the saw chain!
 Follow the instructions of the manufacturer for
maintenance of the saw chain.

Turning the tree trunk will prevent you from touching
the ground with the saw chain.
Tree trunk supported on one side
To prevent the tree trunk from splitting when sawing,
proceed as follows:
.
 Saw the tree trunk 2/3 of the diameter from
top to bottom
 Saw through the tree trunk from above
Tree trunk supported on two sides
To prevent the saw chain from jamming when
sawing, proceed as follows:
 Saw the tree trunk 1/3 of the diameter from
top to bottom
 Saw through the tree trunk from below
Cleaning
 After use, always clean the chain saw,
in particular the ventilation slots, using
a dry cloth or a brush if the unit is very dirty.
 Never spray the chain saw with water.
Cleaning the saw rail and saw chain
Attention!
To ensure that the unit can be operated
safely and that the saw chain is adequately
lubricated, the guide groove in the saw rail
must be cleaned if very dirty.
 Remove the chain cover, the saw chain and the
saw rail.
 Clean the oil guide groove
using a suitable tool (e.g. wire brush).
