e) Checking the Model's Centre of Gravity
Align the lower rotor blades (1) in flight direction (model's
longitudinal axis) towards the front and rear. The rotor blades
must be at a 180° angle to each other.
The upper rotor blades (2) are also aligned at a 180° angle
to each other and turned so that the centrifugal weight (3) is
at a 90° angle to the flight direction.
Now carefully lift up the model with two fingers at the
centrifugal weight. The helicopter's fuselage has to be
aligned horizontally now and must not tilt to the front or rear.
Any slant can be balanced out by moving the flight battery
or by gluing on small balancing weights to the fuselage tip
or the tail.
f) Connecting the Flight Battery
Slide the pitch function control lever (see figure 1, item 11)
and the trimming slider for the pitch function (see figure 1,
item 12) into their respective lowest position at the
transmitter.
Then switch on the transmitter and connect the flight battery
using the BEC connector (1), which is protected against
polarity reversal, to the receiver/controller component's (2)
connection cable.
After connecting the flight battery, the receiver/controller
module (3) then carries out an internal alignment that lasts
for approx. 2 seconds.
While this is going on, the red indicator LED (4) on the top
of the receiver/controller component flashes red very fast.
The helicopter must not be moved during this time.
Once matching is complete, the two servo levers (also see figure 18, item 4) of the rotor control also move to neutral
(centre position) and the red indicator LED is permanently lit.
If the indicator LED flashes slowly after the internal reconciliation, the receiver/controller component does
not recognise the transmitter signal. In this case, the transmitter must be inspected or, if required, binding
must be performed (see chapter 13).
Attention!
When the indicator LED (4) starts to flash red during the flight, land your model immediately to avoid harmful
deep discharge of the flight battery.
