9. Motor Commissioning

a) Inserting and Connecting the Flight Battery
The flight battery is inserted into the opening on the bottom of the fuselage and secured with hook-and-loop tape.
The precise position of the rechargeable battery is determined by the centre of gravity.

b) Setting the Centre of Gravity

The flight battery must be applied to the fuselage on the hook-and-loop tape inserted there so that the centre of gravity is approx. 80 to 85 mm behind the nose
bar of the top wing. To do so, mark the corresponding centre of gravity position at the wing with a pen. Use your index fingers to hold the assembled and ready-
to-fly model from below at the measured positions. If the centre of gravity is set correctly, the model should be leaning slightly forward.
Caution, important!
The landing gear is in front of the centre of gravity and influences the centre of gravity position by its dead weight. Re-determine the landing gear
when disassembling the landing gear.
For the first flights, please set the centre of gravity
at approx. 80 mm. The best centre of gravity then
can be reset slowly.
When you have determined the centre of gravity,
mark the flight battery and the fuselage using a
pen. Thus, when you change the flight battery, you
do not have to determine the centre of gravity again.

c) Setting the Rudder Deflections

When the construction is performed correctly and the transmitter set, the rudders
should have the following deflection values (measured at the rear edge):
Aileron
17 mm up and down (max. 27 mm)
Elevator rudder
30 mm up and down (max. 45 mm)
Rudder
35 mm left and right (max. 60 mm)
For all rudders, the transmitter should (where possible) be set to 50% expotentional ("Expo").
Attention!
The indicated values show the lower and the upper thresholds of the rudder deflections. Adjust the deflections individually to suit your personal
preferences.
Use a computer remote control for your model to comfortably set the values from the transmitter.
If you are using a normal remote control, the values are set by repositioning the push rods on the servo arms or the flaps.
