b) Programming the Special Functions

The speed controller is already pre-programmed with the most sensible pre-settings ex works.
If you use LiPo batteries to operate the vehicle, check the basic settings of the speed controller for whether
undervoltage protection is activated (usually 3.0 V/cell). With the undervoltage recognition deactivated, the
LiPo batteries will otherwise suffer deep discharge and be destroyed.
The programming can be performed very easily via the setup button.
Proceed as follows for programming:
• Switch on the transmitter if you haven't done it already.
• Switch off the speed controller („OFF").
• Keep the setup button (B) next to the on/off switch (A)
pressed and turn the speed controller on („ON").
Continue to push and hold the setup button (B). Don't
release it.
• The LED at the speed controller flashes red and the
motor emits beeps (continue to keep the setup button
pushed).
• After some time, the LED flashes green (keep the setup button pushed) and the motor emits beeps. This shows the
setting function that is currently shown.
LED gives 1 brief green flash + 1 brief beep:
LED gives 2 brief green flashes + 2 brief beeps:
LED gives 3 brief green flashes + 3 brief beeps:
LED gives 4 brief green flashes + 4 brief beeps:
LED gives 1 long green flash + 1 long beep:
The beeps are generated by a short start-up of the brushless motor. These beeps may be very low, depen-
ding on the motor. In this case, observe the LED on the speed controller.
• When the desired setting function that you want to change is displayed (e.g. undervoltage protection, LED flashes
briefly green 3x + 3 brief beeps from the motor), release the setup button.
• Now the LED flashes red again. The number of red flashing signals shows which setting value is active (e.g. under-
voltage protection 3.0 V/cell, red LED flashes 4x briefly red + 4 beeps from the motor).
• Pushing the setup button briefly changes the setting value. The number of flashing signals of the red LED (and
beeps from the motor) changes accordingly (see table on the next page).
• To leave the setting mode and save programming, switch off the speed controller. If you switch on the speed control-
ler then, the speed controller is ready for operation with the settings made above.
• If another setting is to be changed, proceed again as described above.
