b) Commissioning

• The manual for the remote control system is included separately. Always observe all safety information
included in it as well as any other information!
• Only use a suitable drive batteries for the vehicle. Never operate the speed controller with a mains
adapter, not even for test purposes.
• This vehicle is exclusively suitable for use with two LiPo drive batteries with 2 cells (nominal voltage
7.4 V) or 3 cells (nominal voltage 11.1 V).
When using a drive battery with more cells, there is a danger of fire from overheating of the speed
controller. Apart from this, the vehicle's drive will be overloaded and damaged by this (e.g. differential).
Loss of guarantee/warranty!
The two drive batteries must have the same build (same battery type, same capacity, same discharge
rate, same manufacturer, same type). Never insert different drive batteries together. There is a danger
of fire!
Both drive batteries also must have the same state of charge. Never connect, e.g., a fully charged and
a partially discharged LiPo drive battery to the speed controller. This will cause deep discharge and
permanently damage the rechargeable battery.
• W hen putting the device into operation, always turn on the transmitter first. Then connect the drive bat-
teries of the vehicle to the speed controller and switch on the speed controller. Otherwise, the vehicle
may show unpredictable responses!
Proceed as follows:
- Place the vehicle on an appropriate surface before connecting the drive batteries, so that the wheels
can turn freely.
- Switch off the speed controller.
- Switch on the transmitter if you haven't done it already. Check its function (e.g. operation display of the
transmitter).
- Put the trimming for the throttle/brake function at the transmitter into the centre position.
- Connect two fully charged drive batteries of the same build in the proper polarity to the speed con-
troller (minus/- must be connected to the diagonal side of the XT90-plug; see labels on the plugs/
sockets).
- Now switch on the speed controller. Wait for a few seconds until the speed controller has completed
its self-test.
• Check that the vehicle reacts to remote control commands as expected (steering and drive) before taking
it from the support and placing it on the ground with its wheels.
• If the drive does not work as desired, observe chapter 14.
