e) Setting ABS function (ABS)

With the ABS function, you can optimise the
braking behaviour of your model car. The
braking function is pulsed electronically to
avoid a locking of the wheels.
Especially when driving through curves, this prevents understeering (ill. 19A) or oversteering (ill. 19B). With clocked
braking, the model can follow the ideal line in the curve (ill. 19C).
You can set the ABS function as follows:
Switch on the transmitter. On the transmitter's LC display the operating display
will appear. Now press the "SEL" menu button (see illustration 01, pos. 5) 5 times.
On the left edge of the display, "ABS" (Anti-lock Braking System) will appear and
on the top right, channel 2 (CH 2) for the driving function is shown.
With the two setting buttons plus "+" and minus "-" (see ill. 1, pos. 8) you can now
set the ABS function individually.
OFF: The ABS function is switched off.
SLW: Slow clocking of the brake function
NOR: Normal clocking of the brake function
FST: Fast clocking of the brake function
The value which was set last is stored automatically.
If you do not press a button for more than one minute, the display returns to the
operating mode display.
When using the ABS function, you have to apply a fast and high-torque servo for the brake function.
Slow and weak standard servos can sometimes not convert the fast impulse changes mechanically
correct and even become damaged under adverse circumstances.
When using electronic drive controls with reverse driving function, the model generally first brakes when pressing the
lever for the drive function forward. Only when you let the lever spring back into the central position and then push it
forward again, the "reverse" drive function is activated.
Further information in this respect can be found in the documents for the used drive control.
