c) Setting of maximum servo turn (EPA)

With the EPA setting (End Point Adjustment) you can precisely determine how large the maximum permitted turn for
the steering and throttle servo may be on each side. This function is normally used to protect servos at full turn from
mechanical limit stops.
Contrary to the already mentioned dual-rate function, which reacts simultaneously to both deflection directions of the
servos, you can set a separate value from 0 to 120% for each side with the EPA setting. The smaller the value, the
shorter is the servo way.
In this menu, set the maximum possible steering deflection for channel 1 (steering) before the steering servo starts to
make a humming noise and is restricted mechanically in its movement. If a lesser steering deflection should become
necessary for later operation, this will be reduced later using the dual rate function.
Set the throttle servo accordingly. If you use an electronic drive control (channel 2) for the drive function, you can also
define a maximum control value. However, in order to be able to utilize the highest possible engine speed, the value of
100 - 120% should be set in both directions.
Before limiting the deflections in the EPA function, you should check whether the factory setting of
100% is still set for the dual-rate setting (see section "Setting the dual-rate values for the steering and
driving function").
Try to set the linkages mechanically in such a way that you can use EPA settings of 100 to 120%.
Switch on the transmitter. On the transmitter's LC display the operating display
will appear. Now press the "SEL" menu button (see illustration 3, pos. 5) once.
On the left edge of the display EPA (End Point Adjustment) will appear and on the
top right the channel 1(CH 1) for the steering is shown.
If you turn the steering wheel on the transmitter (see illustration 1, pos. 2) left (L)
and hold it in that position, the direction display "LF" and the presently set EPA
value will appear.
With the plus and minus buttons (see illustration 1, pos. 8) you can now set the
desired value for the left turn.
Then turn the steering wheel on the transmitter to the right, keep it in this position
and set the desired EPA value for the steering deflection to the right. While doing
this, the direction indication changes from "LF" to "RB".
With the channel shift key "CH" (see illustration 1, pos. 6) you can switch to channel
2 (drive function).
If you pull the lever for the drive function (see illustration 1, pos. 10) all the way to
the handle and hold it in that position, the direction display "LF" and the presently
set EPA value will appear.
With the plus and minus buttons (see illustration 1, pos. 8) you can now set the
desired value for full throttle.
If you push the lever for the drive function all the way forward (see ill. 1, pos. 10)
and keep it in this position, the display changes to "RB" and you can set the EPA
value for the brake setting or the reverse driving function.
