Creating a
Configuration File
with STEP 7

To create a configuration file in the XDB format with STEP 7, follow
the steps outlined below:
Step
1 Start the Netpro program in the SIMATIC Manager.
2 Insert a SIMATIC PC station for each PC you want to
network.
3 Select an application in the SIMATIC PC station.
4 Insert the connections to the required stations.
5 Compile and save the connection configuration.
6 Copy the newly created configuration file (XDB
configuration file) to the appropriate PC.
S7-connections which use the TCP/IP-protocoll (with COML S7 - TCP
connections) must be configured with COML S7.
