If enough oil has been filled in, the oil warning indicator
(3c) extinguishes again after starting.
If the oil level is too low, the oil warning indicator (3c) con-
tinues to illuminate red and the product does not start.
If the oil level drops below the defined minimum level
during operation, the oil warning indicator (3c) starts to il-
luminate red. The automatic oil shut-off switches off the
product to prevent damage to the engine.
It is not possible to start the engine until the engine oil has
been filled (see chapter 8.3).

Winter operation
As the power generator is driven by a diesel engine, spe-
cial measures must be taken for winter operation. The
use of "winter diesel" is required if operating the power
generator in outside temperatures of -3° to -10° Celsius.
The switchover of the diesel fuel to "winter diesel" takes
place mainly at the end of October, differing from country
to country. Ask your filling station about the time to swi-
tchover to "winter diesel".
• If the power generator is operated regularly, measures
do not need to be taken as the switchover to "winter
diesel" takes place automatically.
• If the power generator is not used for a long time in
the autumn, but will be used again in the winter, it is
recommended to keep the fuel tank almost empty.
Ask your filling station about the time to switch over to
"winter diesel" and fill the tank with "winter diesel" be-
fore use in outdoor temperatures from -3° to -10° Cel-
sius.
• If, however, the diesel fuel "congeals", the diesel pow-
er generator must be brought into a room with tem-
peratures of approx. +10° Celsius for approx. 12
hours.
• Empty the fuel tank. If almost empty or up to half emp-
ty, it is sufficient to fill up with "winter diesel".
• Fill the fuel tank with "winter diesel".

Switching the product on/off
(Fig. 9-11)
DANGER
Danger of poisoning!
Only use the product outdoors and never in closed or
poorly ventilated rooms.
Do not connect any consumers before starting the gener-
ator.
Allow the power generator to run for a short time (approx.
30 seconds) without load before switching it off so that it
can "cool down". To do so, switch off the connected con-
sumers.

9.6.1
NOTE
If the product's battery is empty, the engine cannot be
started.
To avoid discharging the battery, it is recommended to
operate the power generator for at least 30 minutes
once a month. If the power generator is not used for a
longer period of time, disconnect the battery from the
terminals.
1. Open the maintenance door (4).
2. Check that the mechanical ON/OFF switch (15) is en-
gaged in the correct position (RUN).
3. Close the maintenance door (4).
4. Switch the circuit breaker (3e/3f) on (to the ON posi-
tion).
5. Insert the ignition key (3b) into the ignition lock (3a).
6. Turn the ignition key (3b) to the "ON" position.
7. Now connect the corresponding consumer.
NOTE
400 V heavy current:
The load of a three-phase power generator must be dis-
tributed over all three phases, balancing the load for all
phases.
The load per phase must not exceed 1/3 of the total
generator power. The permissible imbalance shall not
exceed 20%. Loading only the 1st or 2nd phase will re-
sult in a device failure. The total load and current for all
three phases must not exceed the normal load and cur-
rent of the power generator.
9.6.2
1. Turn the ignition key (3b) to the "OFF" position.
2. Disconnect the consumers from the product.
3. Remove the ignition key (3b) when leaving the prod-
uct.
ATTENTION
– Do not switch off the diesel power generator when
the connected loads are in operation.
– Use the mechanical ON/OFF switch only in an
emergency.
10 Cleaning and maintenance
WARNING
Have maintenance and repair tasks that are
not described in this operating manual, car-
ried out by a specialist workshop. Use only
original spare parts.
WARNING
Improper maintenance or cleaning work can
cause injuries!
