12.2.2.1
Replacing the thread coil (38)
(Fig. 1, 24-28)
1. Remove the coil capsule (17) as described in Assem-
bling/disassembling coil capsule (17) (Fig. 4, 5) .
2. Open the coil capsule (17) by pressing the two releas-
es (37a) on the coil capsule (17) firmly together at the
same time.
3. Remove the cover (37) with the pressure spring (37b)
of the coil capsule (17) and remove the thread coil
(38).
4. Pull the thread end of the thread coil (38) out of the
thread outlet eyelets (39).
5. Remove all thread remnants from the coil capsule
(17).
6. Take the new thread coil (38) and pull out 10 cm of
both trimming lines.
7. Clamp the two threads in the opposite notches (38b)
in the thread coil (38).
8. Insert the new thread coil (38) into the coil capsule
(17).
The side of the thread coil (38) on which the running
direction is indicated by arrows must be visible after
insertion.
9. The thread coil (38) must be inserted so that the
notches (38b) in the thread coil (38) are aligned with
the thread outlet eyelets (39) to allow easy threading
of the thread.
10. Insert the two threads into the respective thread outlet
eyelets (39).
11. Turn the thread coil (38) slightly back and forth until
the integrated lock-in stages of the thread coil (38)
slide into the lock-in stages of the coil capsule (17).
This prevents unintended shifting.
12. Replace the cover (37) with the compression spring
(37b) on the coil capsule (17).
Ensure that the unlocking levers (37a) on the cover
(37) fit exactly into the recesses on the coil capsule
(17). You can hear them click into place.
Notes:
So that new thread is fed in, press the trigger (38a) on the
thread coil (38) firmly on the floor with the motor running.
If the thread is initially longer than the cutting circle speci-
fied, it is automatically shortened to the correct length by
the thread cutter (15b).
12.2.2.2
Alternatively, the thread on the thread coil can also be re-
placed.
(38).
4. Pull the thread ends of the thread coil (38) out of the
thread outlet eyelets (39).
5. Remove all thread remnants from the coil capsule (17)
and the thread coil (38).
6. Bend the new thread in the middle (at approx. 2 me-
tres) and insert the bent part of the thread into one of
the notches (38c) of the centre bar of the thread coil
(38).
There must now be one thread end in the lower cham-
ber and one in the upper chamber of the thread coil
(38).
7. Wind the two thread ends in the direction of the
"WIND CORD" arrow as specified on the top of the
thread coil (38).
8. Take the thread coil (38) and pull out 100 mm of both
threads.
9. Then clamp the two threads in the opposite notches
(38b) in the thread coil (38).
10. Proceed as described in 12.2.2.1 point 8 above to do
this.
12.2.2.3
The thread cutter (15b) can become blunt over time.
1. If you notice this, loosen the two screws with which
the thread cutter (15b) is attached to the protective
cover (15).
Use the Phillips screwdriver.
2. Then fasten the thread cutter (15b) in a bench vice.
3. Grind the cutting edge of the thread cutter (15b) using
a flat file and make sure to maintain the angle of the
cutting edge.
