• The protective cover extension
must be attached if using the
spool.
• NOTICE! Clean the extension and
protective cover of the tool after
each use.
Tools and aids required
• Screwdriver (24)
Removing the protective cover ex-
tension (Fig. K)
1. Unlock the lock of the protect-
ive cover extension (16) with the
screwdriver (24).
2. Pull off the protective cover exten-
sion (16).
Fitting the protective cover exten-
sion (Fig. K)
1. Insert the lugs of the lock into the
tabs on the protective cover (16).
2. Press the protective cover exten-
sion (16) firmly until the lugs en-
gage in the tabs.
3. Check the lock and the tight fit of
the protective cover extension (16).
Adjusting the carrying
harness eyelet/balancing
the tool
Requirements
• Without touching it by hand, the
tool attached to the harness should
satisfy the following preconditions:
➊ The spool should rest lightly on
the ground.
➋ The blade should be balanced
around 20 cm above the ground.
Tools required
• Hex key (21)
Procedure (Fig. G)
1. Loosen the screw (49) on the eye-
let (6) for the double shoulder
strap.
2. Tighten the screw (49) only slightly.
3. Move the eyelet (6) on the front tu-
bular shaft (2) to balance the tool
according to the above precondi-
tions.
4. Tighten the screw (49).
Fitting and removing the 3-
blade steel cutter
Notes
• If using the 3-blade steel cutter
(12), the protective cover extension
(16) must be removed (Removing/
mounting the protective cover
extension, p. 22).
• Note the left-hand thread.
Tighten the nut (57) anticlockwise.
Turn the nut (57) clockwise.
Tools required
• Hex key (22)
• Combination tool (23)
Fitting 3-blade steel cutter (Fig. J)
1. Switch off the device, wait until
all moving parts have come to a
complete standstill and remove the
batteries.
2. Place the tool on the ground in a
stable position.
3. Block the uptake spindle (59) with
the hex key (22).
4. Place the 3-blade steel cutter (12)
on the uptake spindle (59).
The blade can be used on both
sides.
5. Insert the nut (34) into the clamp-
ing disk (56) as shown.
6. Secure the 3-blade steel cutter (12)
with washer (58), clamping disk
(56) and nut (34).
