a. Comply with the manufacturer's
instructions for sharpening and
maintaining the saw chain. Depth
gauges placed too low increase
the potential for kickbacks.
b. Check the device before each use
for obvious defects such as loose,
worn or damaged parts. Check the
device for significant damage or
defects if it is dropped.
c. Never use the device if you are
tired, ill or under the influence of
alcohol or other drugs. You may
not operate the device under the

with the device.

lead to blood circulation disorders
in the hands caused by vibration
(Raynaud's syndrome). However,
you can extend the duration of use
by wearing suitable gloves or tak-

ing regular breaks. Please ensure
that if you are susceptible to poor
circulation, low outside temper-
atures or strong gripping forces
while working, this may reduce the
length of time for which you are
able to work.
Information on Raynaud's
syndrome
Raynaud's syndrome is a vascular
disease in which the small blood ves-
sels in the fingers and toes seize up.
The affected areas are no longer sup-
plied with sufficient blood and there-
fore appear extremely pale. Frequent
use of vibrating equipment can cause
nerve damage in people whose blood
circulation is impaired (e.g. smokers,
diabetics). If you notice any unusual
impairment, stop work immediately
and consult a doctor.
Pay attention to the following instruc-
tions to reduce dangers:
• Keep your body and especially
your hands warm in cold weather.
• Take regular breaks and move your
hands while doing so to promote
blood circulation.
• Keep machine vibration to a min-
imum by regular maintenance and
fixed parts on the machine.
