• If the device starts to vibrate ab-
normally, an immediate check is
required, remove the batteries and:
• examine for loose parts and
tighten these,
• search for signs of damage,
• replace damaged parts. contact
the service centre.
• If an accident or malfunction oc-
curs during operation, switch off
the device immediately. Injur-
ies must be properly treated or
medical assistance sought. Read
the "Troubleshooting" section to
correct any malfunctions or con-
tact our Service Centre.
• Only use accessories recom-
mended by PARKSIDE. Unsuit-
able accessories may cause elec-
tric shock or fire.
Cleaning, maintenance and storage
• Switch off the drive and remove
the battery. Wait until all moving
parts have stopped and allow the
device to cool down when the
device is stopped for maintenance,
repair, storage or replacement of
an accessory.
• Replace worn or damaged parts in
the interests of safety. Use only ori-
ginal spare parts and accessories.
Using externally produced parts
results in the immediate loss of any
warranty claim.
• Check and maintain the machine
regularly. Only have the machine
repaired at an authorised work-
shop.
• Store the device out of reach of
children.
Protective measures
against kickback
 WARNING! Risk of injury! In the
event of a kickback, the operator will
feel a powerful blow from the device.

Loss of control of the device and ser-
ious injuries. Avoid kickback through
caution and correct technique.
When using a metal cutting tool, there
is a risk of kickback if the cutting
edge hits an obstacle (e.g. stone,
wood).
• Hold the device firmly with both
hands.
• Make sure there are no obstacles
on the ground.
• Do not use a metal cutting tool
near fences, metal posts or similar.
• Only use properly sharpened metal
cutting tools.
• To cut thick
stems, switch the
device to posi-
tion A.
Additional safety
instructions
• If the cutting tool were to come
into contact with a live electrical
cable, metal parts of the tool could
also become live and cause an
electric shock.
• Carefully inspect the surface to be
cut, and remove all wires and other
foreign bodies.
• Check the tool before each use
for obvious defects such as loose,
worn or damaged parts. Check the
tool for significant damage or de-
fects if it is dropped.
• Pay attention to the following: Im-
proper maintenance, the use of
non-compliant spare parts or the
unauthorised removal or modifica-
tion of safety equipment can lead
to damage to the tool and serious
injuries to the person working with
the tool.
