5. Open the spool cap (17) by press-
ing the lock (55) on both sides of
the spool cap (17) firmly inwards.
6. Remove the cover of the spool
cap.
7. Insert the new spool (54) into the
cover of the spool cap (17).
8. Loosen the line ends from the
grooves (60).
9. Thread the two line ends through
the line outlet loop (53).
10. Reassemble the cover and lower
part of the spool cap (17).
11. Screw the spool cap (17) onto the
tool holder (59).
12. Remove the hex key (22).
13. Trim the thread line to approx.
15 cm.
Sharpening the line cutter
WARNING! Risk of injury! Never
use the tool with a defective line cut-
ter. Replacement line cutters are
available from our online shop (Spare
parts and accessories, p. 37).
CAUTION! Cutting injuries! Wear
cut-resistant gloves to avoid injury.
Tools and aids required (not in-
cluded)
• Vice
• Flat file
Procedure (Fig. K)
1. Switch off the device, wait until
all moving parts have come to a
complete standstill and remove the
batteries.
2. Unscrew the line cutter (15) from
the extension of the protective
cover (16).
3. Clamp the line cutter (15) in a vice
and sharpen the blade with a flat
file.
File carefully, and always in one
direction only.

4. Screw the line cutter (15) back
onto the extension of the protect-
ive cover (16).
Winding up the spool
As an alternative to a new spool, you
can purchase a 2.4 mm-thick, 6 m-
long nylon line in specialist shops and
wind this yourself onto the spool.
Procedure (Fig. L)
1. Fold the line in the middle and
place the middle of the line in the
notch (61) of the spool (54).
2. Wind the two ends in the direction
indicated by the arrow on the un-
derside of the spool.
3. Then clamp the end of each line
in one of the grooves (60) on the
spool (54).
NOTICE! Pull the lines tight and en-
sure that they are parallel in the two
line channels. In addition, the spool
must not be filled with more than 3 m
of line in each channel, as otherwise
the automatic line mechanism will not
function correctly.
Lubricating the gears
Lubricate the gears about every 10
operating hours.
Tools and aids required
• Hex key (22)
• Multi-purpose grease
Procedure (Fig. M)
1. Remove the screw (63) on the
gears.
2. Press approx. 5 g of grease into
the lubrication opening on the gear
housing.
3. Close the gears again using the
screw (63).
