6. After every third sharpening, check
the sharpening depth (depth
gauge) and re-file the height using
a flat file. The depth gauge should
be set back by approx. 0.65 mm
from the cutting tooth.
7. After resetting, round off the depth
gauge slightly towards the front.
Changing the saw chain
Notes
• Use protective gloves
• Never attach a new saw chain onto
worn teeth, or onto a damaged or
worn blade bar.
Procedure (Fig. C)
1. Switch off the device, wait until
all moving parts have come to a
complete standstill and remove the
batteries.
2. Loosen the nut (34).
3. Take off the sprocket cover (35).
4. Remove the old saw chain (1).

Servicing the blade bar
 CAUTION! Cutting injuries! Wear
cut-resistant gloves when working
with the saw chain or with the blade
bar.
Tools and aids required
• Flat file
Procedure
1. Switch off the device and remove
the batteries from the device.
2. Remove the sprocket cover (35),
saw chain (1) and blade bar (36).
3. Check the blade bar (36) for wear.
4. Remove burrs and straighten the
guide surfaces with a flat file.
5. Clean the oil passage (39) to en-
sure fault-free, automatic oiling of
the saw chain during operation.
6. Mount the blade bar (36), saw
chain (1) and sprocket cover (35)
and tighten the chainsaw.
When in an optimal condition, the
oil passages will automatically spray
the saw chain with a little oil a few
seconds after starting the chainsaw.
Turning the blade bar

1. Switch off the device, wait until
all moving parts have come to a
complete standstill and remove the
batteries.
2. Place the tool on the ground in a
stable position.
3. Loosen the nut (34).
4. Remove the sprocket cover (35).
5. Remove the saw chain (1) and the
blade bar (36).
6. Turn the blade bar along its hori-
zontal axis.

ning direction of the saw chain:

Spool damage
Procedure (Fig. I)
1. Switch off the device, wait until
all moving parts have come to a
complete standstill and remove the
batteries.
2. Place the tool on the ground in a
stable position.
3. Block the tool holder (59) with the
hex key (22) (Fig. J) .
4. Unscrew the spool cap (17) from
the tool holder (59).
