The device is part of an automated welding system. The device is used in manual welding and
automated welding/robot welding to a max. duty cycle of 100 %. During welding, harmful
welding fumes are produced which are filtered and cleaned by the device's internal filters.
The device is used to extract fumes and dust that result from welding processes. The device fulfills
the requirements of welding fume separation class W3 and can therefore be used in recirculating
mode for extraction during the welding of steels with an alloy content of nickel and chrome of less
than and more than 30 %.
One motors draws the welding fumes through the air extraction fitting to the central section of the
device. In the process, the welding fume is drawn through the filter cartridge. The filter membranes
trap the dirt particles. The purified air is then channeled into the upper section of the device.
The filter cartridge is cleaned using a rotary nozzle that uses a compressed air pulse to blow dirt
particles out of the filter membranes. The dirt particles are trapped in a dust collection bin.
There is a safety device for monitoring the minimum air volume to be extracted installed in the
device. Effective pressure measurement is used for monitoring purposes. The rotary/push button
lights up orange when the filter is faulty or saturated and needs to be replaced.
If the filter becomes saturated during continuous operation, an error message is output to the
display and an acoustic signal sounds every 30 seconds.
The device is equipped with an automatic start-stop feature.
