14. Disposal

a) General

If the product has become unusable, dispose of it in accordance with the relevant statutory
regulations.
b) Battery/accumulator disposal
You, as the ultimate user, are required by law (Battery Ordinance) to return all spent batteries/
accumulators. Disposing of spent batteries/accumulators in the household waste is prohib-
ited!
Batteries / accumulators which contain hazardous substances are marked by the
symbols on the side. These symbols also indicate that it is prohibited to dispose of these
batteries in the household waste.
The names for the decisive heavy metals are: Cd=cadmium, Hg=mercury, Pb=lead (the
designation is written on the accumulator e.g. under the rubbish can symbols depicted
at the left).
You can hand in your used batteries/accumulators at the official collection points of your
community at no cost or everywhere where batteries/accumulators are sold.
You thus fulfil your statutory obligations and make your contribution to the protection of the
environment.
