13. Servicing and cleaning

Check the technical safety of the product, e.g. for damage to the housing or the mains cable, at
regular intervals.
Never replace a damaged mains cable but leave it over to a specialist workshop.
"Mending" a damaged mains cable, e.g. with insulation tape is not permitted. Risk of a
fatal electric shock!
When it can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible, the product must be
put out of service and precautions taken to ensure that it is not used unintentionally.
Remove any connected accumulator/accumulator pack, switch off the charging station
and disconnect it from the mains supply; pull out the mains plug!
It can be assumed that risk-free operation is no longer possible if
• the device displays visible damage (e.g. damaged mains cable) or
• the device no longer operates and
• the device has been stored under unfavourable conditions (e.g. dust, dirt, dampness)
• the device has been exposed to stress during transport (e.g. if the device has been dropped).
The charging station is maintenance- free. For this reason, you should never open it.
None of the components on the inside of the product is to be maintained by the user.
Only a specialist who is familiar with the associated risks and the relevant regulations may
carry out repairs or open the device.
Live components may be exposed if the covering is opened or components are removed.
Capacitors in the device may still be charged even if the device has been disconnected
from all voltage sources.
Disconnect any connected accumulator/accumulator pack, then switch off the
charging station and disconnect it from the mains supply; pull out the mains
plug!
Dust can then be removed with the aid of a clean, soft brush or a vacuum cleaner. The use of a dry,
soft, lint-free cloth is sufficient to clean the outside of the product. For more resistant dirt, you can
moisten the cloth slightly with lukewarm water.
Do not use detergents or coloration of the plastic material could occur. This could
damage the labelling.
Before connecting the charging station again with the mains voltage and put it into
operation, wait until the device is completely dry!
