10. Tips and information
• Several excess temperature sensors (transformer and final stage) are integrated in the charging
station. When the excess temperature sensor is activated, the charging process is interrupted
automatically and the display LED "Laden" (= "charge") extinguishes.
As soon as the temperature is within the normal range, the charging process is continued
automatically again.
• A safety timer in the charging station switches off the charging process when the maximum
charging time has been exceeded independent of whether the accumulator is fully charged or not.
• If the charging control recognises an excessive internal resistance with the accumulator, the
charging process is also automatically terminated. Such an accumulator cannot be charged with
the Reflex charging station "RLG7008".
As a test, you can attempt to charge the accumulator at a lower charging current.
• After interruption to the mains voltage during the charging process (e.g. power failure or mistaken
switching off of the charging station), the charging process is not continued automatically.
• Normally, the accumulators in the Reflex-charging process do not become as warm as they do in
the conventional charging process.
• Accumulators are subject to a natural self-discharge process. Reloading at regular intervals
(approx. every 3-6 months) is recommended and increases the service life appreciably. Accumu-
lators or accumulator packs with less than 0.8V open-circuit voltage per cell are from experience
only insufficiently usable of defective.
Dispose of such batteries or accumulator packs in an evironmentally friendly manner,
see section "disposal".
• Used accumulators may not be put away empty; they have to be charged previously.
• Factory-new accumulators are at first highly resistive. It could occur that the charging station
interrupts the charging process. Therefore always charge the accumulators at reduced charging
current.
• New accumulators only reach the full accumulator capacity after approx. 10 charging/discharging
cycles.
• In spite of markedly reduced charging times and the high charging power, charging of the
accumulators with the patented Reflex charging process is more sparing than with the conven-
tional charging process. The service life of the accumulator is thus increased.
