5. Safety instructions

The warranty will lapse for damage due to non-compliance with these operating
instructions. We shall not be liable for any consequential loss!
We shall not accept liability for damage to property or personal injury caused by
incorrect handling or non-compliance with the safety instructions. Any claim to
warranty will lapse in such cases.
Dear Customer,
The following safety instructions are intended not only for the protection of your
health but also for the protection of the device. Please read through the following
points attentively:
• For safety and licensing (CE) reasons, unauthorised conversion and/or modifications
to the product are not permitted.
• For the voltage/power supply, the charging device has to be connected to a correct
mains socket (230V/50Hz) of the public supply network.
• Operation of the product is only permissible in dry, indoor areas. The product may not
become damp or wet. Avoid direct sunlight, excessive heat or cold. The same goes
naturally also for connected accumulators.
• Do not place vessels, vases or plants on or alongside the charging device or
accumulator. Liquids could penetrate into the interior of the housing and, in doing, so
impair the electrical safety. Apart from that, there is the greatest risk of a fire or a fatal
electric shock!
In such a case, disconnect the product immediately from the mains voltage (remove
first of all the power supply from the mains socket, then pull out the mains plug from
the socket). Then disconnect the accumulator from the charging device.
Do not operate the device any longer but take it to a specialist workshop. After that, the
accumulator is to be dried off completely and cleaned.
• The device is not a toy. The product has no place in the hands of children! Therefore,
particular care must be exercised if children are present. Children could attempt to
poke objects through the openings in the housing and into the device. The device can
be destroyed thereby and, apart from this, there is danger to life through an electric
shock!
The product may only be set up and operated at a place at which is not accessible for
children. Children could alter settings of the short-circuit accumulator/accumulator
pack which can lead to an explosion. Danger to life!
• The product is only suitable for charging NiCd and NiMH accumulators or accumulator
packs which can be charged quickly. Other accumulators (e.g. lead accumulators,
LiIon accumulators) or batteries may not be charged! Danger of explosion!
