6. Use of the wheelchair
6.1. Check before setting off
6.1.1. Checking the brakes
Before each journey, check that the brake system is functioning
properly.
When the parking brakes are applied, the wheelchair cannot be
pushed away on a dry surface. When the brakes are released, the
wheelchair moves without grinding noises and with good directional
stability.
If this behaviour does not apply, inform your specialist dealer immediately
and discontinue use until repairs have been carried out.
6.1.2. Checking the tyres
Always check that the tyres are undamaged before setting off. If the
tyre is damaged, have it repaired by an authorised specialist
workshop.
6.2. Side entry and exit
•
Bring the wheelchair and the current or future seat as close together
as possible to the side.
•
If you want to transfer from another wheelchair or indoor
undercarriage, secure it by applying the parking brakes.
•
Secure your wheelchair against unintentional rolling away by
operating the brake levers on both sides of the wheelchair.
•
Swing the side parts away to the rear.
•
Fold the foot plates to the side or remove the leg supports.
