authorised service workshop. Improper installation of the charger
may result in a risk of electric shock or fire.
• - Children and physically, emotionally or mentally challenged
persons, as well as other persons whose experience or knowledge
is insufficient to operate the charger with all safety precautions,
should not operate the charger without the supervision of a
responsible person. Otherwise there is a danger that the device will
be mishandled resulting in injury.
• - When the charger is not in use, it should be disconnected from
the mains.
• - All charging instructions must be followed, and the battery must
not be charged at a temperature outside the range specified in the
rating table in the operating instructions. Charging incorrectly or at
temperatures outside the specified range can damage the battery
and increase the risk of fire.
CHARGER REPAIR
• - Do not repair a defective charger yourself. Repair of the charger
is only permitted by the manufacturer or an authorised service
centre.
• - The used charger should be taken to a disposal centre for this
type of waste.
NOTE: The charger is for indoor use.
• - Despite the use of an inherently safe design, the use of safety
measures and additional protective measures, there is always a
residual risk of injury during work.
• - Li-Ion batteries can leak, catch fire or explode if they are heated
to high temperatures or short-circuited. Do not store them in the
car during hot and sunny days. Do not open the battery pack. Li-
Ion batteries contain electronic safety devices which, if damaged,
can cause the battery to catch fire or explode.
OPERATION OF THE DEVICE
Assembling the saw chain and guide bar
If the unit needs to be fitted or the cutting chain needs to be replaced:
• Unscrew the lock knob fig. A3 and remove the chain drive cover fig.
A9.
• Fit the guide fig. A2 as shown in fig. B1, (the hole in the guide must be
located on the locating pin).
• Then fit the chain as shown in figure B2 (the tabs on the inside of the
chain must be inside the groove of the guide bar and on the sprocket).
• Fit the chain drive cover fig. A9 and tighten the lock knob, but leave a
little play.
• The next step is to tension the chain correctly. This is very important,
because a chain that is too loose can slip off the bar and injure the
user. If the chain is tensioned too tightly, it will slow the saw down and
quickly drain the battery. Adjust the tension with a screwdriver by
tightening or turning the screw in figure B4. A correctly tensioned chain
can be pulled away from the bar by a few millimetres (3-4mm).
• Turning the screwdriver clockwise tightens the chain, turning
counterclockwise loosens the chain.
Chain lubrication
• There is no chain lubrication oil reservoir on the saw. Before doing the
following, the chain and sprocket must be cleaned. Therefore, be sure
to oil the chain and drive sprocket every 15 to 20 minutes of operation
with the lubricant provided in the kit, fig. C. For lubrication of the chain
and drive sprocket, use dedicated oil.
Make sure the battery is fully charged before starting work. Insert the
battery into the socket Fig. A6 until you hear a distinct click.
Starting the saw
• To start the saw, first press the safety button fig. A10 and then the
switch fig. A4.
• Wait until the saw has reached full speed and only then carefully start
cutting the workpiece.
• Remember to keep your other hand at a safe distance of at least 15
cm from the cutting area of the saw when operating the machine.
• Do not use the chainsaw for forcible cutting of larger branches, this
may deform the cutting chain and block the cut.
• On cold or damp days, to protect the battery if it is not working place
it under waterproof clothing, do not use the unit on rainy days.
• We recommend that the battery is disconnected after use, and stored
in its original packaging.
• After use, clean the entire unit and the bar and chain with a cloth and
a small amount of oil.
• If, during operation, the user finds that the machine runs slower or
there are problems with cutting, check that the battery is not already
discharged. If so, replace it with a new fully charged one. The second
option is to check that the chain blades are not worn out. If so, sharpen
the chain or replace it with a sharpened one. Slow cutting is not always
caused by the above factors.
NOTE: When cutting dry, hard wood, despite a sharp chain and a fully
charged battery, the cutting process may be slower.
Particular care must be taken at the end of the cut as the saw, having no
resistance in the form of cut material, falls by inertia, which can cause
injury.
During prolonged use, the operator may experience tingling or
numbness in the fingers and hands. If this happens, stop working as the
numbness reduces precision when using the saw.
The saw heats up considerably during operation, be careful and do not
touch the hot parts of the saw with unprotected body parts.
The chainsaw must only be operated by one person at a time. All other
persons and animals should be kept away from the operating area of the
chainsaw.
When starting the saw, the cutting chain must not be resting on the
material to be cut.
The chainsaw must not be operated by children or minors. Only entrust
the chainsaw to adults who know how to operate it. When you give your
chain saw to others, these operating instructions must also be available.
If you develop symptoms of fatigue, stop operating your chainsaw
immediately.
A support (trestle) should be used when cutting lumber or thin branches.
Do not cut several slats at the same time (stacked on top of each other),
material held by another person or held by a leg.
Long cut pieces should be properly restrained.
In sloping terrain, always make the cut while standing facing the top of
the hill.
When cutting horizontally, it is necessary to position oneself at an angle
that is at least 90º to the cutting line. Cutting horizontally requires a great
deal of concentration from the saw operator.
Special care must be taken when cutting through splitting wood. Severed
pieces of wood can be thrown in any direction (risk of injury!).
Trimming of tree branches should be carried out by trained persons!
Uncontrolled falling of the felled tree branch poses a risk of injury!
During kickback, the saw behaves in an uncontrolled manner, the chain
comes loose.
An improperly sharpened chain increases the risk of recoil.
Hold the saw securely and firmly during start-up and operation.
Ensure that the material to be cut is restrained securely.
Use clamps to immobilise the material.
Never cut more than one branch at a time. Pay attention to neighbouring
branches when cutting.
