MAINTENANCE, SERVICING AND DISMANTLING
Clean frequency inverter
With the VARIAIR variant, the frequency converter must also be cleaned.
Do not remove dirt from the fan openings with compressed air, but with the help of a vacuum cleaner.

Clean filter
Fig. 10 Intake filter
The rotary valves used are essentially made of graphite and are subject to wear, which is reflected in the
form of carbon dust in the process air. The same interval times must be taken into account here.
The filter cartridges are installed behind the filter cover, which is fastened with 6 handle screws. The C sepa-
rator is located behind another cover. Loosen these, remove the filter cartridges and blow them through with
compressed air from the inside to the outside.
If the filters are limited in their function (clogged, oily, greasy or damaged) even after the cleaning process,
they must be replaced.
Only use original spare parts from Elmo Rietschle.
Intake filter - F1
Depending on the degree of contamination of the intake air, the filter cartridge becomes clogged. It must be
cleaned with compressed air at the intervals mentioned above, but at least every 200 hours.
Safety goggles and an FFP2 mask according to EN 149:2008 must be worn during cleaning.
Intake filter - F2 (only VTR 101+ 141)
The pump needs a small amount of additional air (bypass) to optimise the flow. This intake filter is not so
heavily used but must also be cleaned.
C separator filter - F3
For cleaning the filter cartridge, proceed as follows, depending on the version:
1st paper filter cartridge (standard)
•
Blow through with compressed air from the inside to the outside. Make sure that there is sufficient
distance, as too hard an air flow can damage the filter material.
2. polyester filter cartridge
