PUMP DESCRIPTION
This chapter explains the assemblies and components of the pump and how they work.
The following information is intended to help you understand how the pump works. This information can
help to avoid hazards and errors due to incorrect operation.

The pump is a dry-running rotary vane compressor.
It consists of a housing (1), the eccentrically installed rotor (2), the radially movable vanes (3) and the inlet
and outlet (5+6).
When the rotor turns, gas flows through the intake filter (7) into the enlarging chamber (4) until it is shut off
by the next slide valve. The enclosed gas is then compressed until the relief valve (6) opens against atmo-
spheric pressure.

Sizes
Several pumps of different sizes are listed in these operating instructions, as they
• work according to the same active principle,
• have the same intended use,
• are subject to the same legal and standardisation requirements,
• have a similar design,
• have similar physical characteristics
• and are also very similar in terms of maintenance/service/commissioning.
