O P E R A T I O N
The brakes are the most important
system on your bicycle. With
decreasing brake performance or
other malfunctions, have the brakes
checked by a bicycle specialist.
Make yourself comfortable with the
brakes and find out, how much
handforce is necessary and how
the brakes react. Best results are
achieved by simultaneously using
the rear brake and the front brake.
Before riding, always check
that all brake system compo-
nents are functioning properly.
On your ride with your new
bicycle, actuate the hand brake
lever carefully to become familiar
with the braking performance.
The i-BRAKE can easily be modula-
ted and offers a high stopping po-
wer. The full braking performance
will be achieved after a braking-in
time. This gives you the opportunity
to get used to the i-BRAKE.

Before riding, always check
the brakes for proper operation
especially after cleaning or car
transport in rain or not using the
bike for a longer time or after a
crash.
» The i-BRAKE requires a braking-in
period to achieve maximum
braking power.
» Always use both brakes.
» On wet roads or with additional
load (e.g. baggage, child seat,
trailer) the braking distance will
increase.
» You should brake carefully in
sharp narrow turns, on sandy or
smeary roads, wet asphalt, and
with ice on the road.
» On long and steep downhill roads,
simultaneously use rear and front
brakes to avoid a heating up of the
brakes.
» Avoid constant braking on long
downhills. Rather brake harder
before getting too fast and allow
to cool off again.
» After cycling, the brake and hub
should not be touched.
Danger of getting burns!
» Always wear a helmet.
