8.5 Submenu 1 Parameter
The <1 Parameter> submenu is preset and can be changed as needed. Parameters can be changed only at
the "Setter" or "Service" authorization levels.

Rate: 1 l/min, regulating range: 2 to 30 l/min.
Rate: 0.1 bar, range: 0.2 to 2.0 bar
The set-pressure can be set with the solenoid valve in the wire feeder closed
between the device outlet and solenoid valve. The set point to be set depends
on the back-pressure of the peripheral devices, for example, on the length/
radius of the cable assembly, amount of dirt and debris in the gas nozzle, etc.
The shielding gas used can be adjusted. There are ten memory locations. The
first five memory locations are preconfigured with conventional standard gases.
The other five memory locations can be configured as desired. The designation
of the open memory locations can be changed only with the service software.
The gas factor for self-configured gas types must be calculated. The gas factor
can be set in the <Gas factor> submenu item. Set the gas factor for the gas
already selected under <3 Gas type>. The gas factor can be calculated using
any gas and any number of gases and then entered. In the case of mixed gases,
the factor should be calculated as follows using factors for the individual gas
components:
82% argon / 18% CO
2
Argon = 0.851 / CO
= 0.809
2
Total calculation factor:
(Percentage of argon × argon calculation factor) + (percentage of CO
calculation factor)
(0.82 × 0.851) + (0.18 × 0.809) = 0.843

This function is available with firmware version A.1.5.0 and higher and must be
activated once using the service software.
In contrast to the basic flow, the gas volume flow in the pressure regulation
range can be adjusted. An asterisk is not shown on the display if a welding
current signal is not detected. The device then operates in the pressure
regulation range.
If the device switches to gas volume flow regulation, an asterisk appears on
the display. The device then operates with the set basic flow (not with the gas
flow in pressure regulation) and uses this for gas volume flow regulation.
The gas volume flow in the pressure control range can be set between 5 l/min
and 30 l/min. This parameter can also be set to <max>. At <max>, the valve
in the device is fully open and does not perform any control.
